On a recent episode of the new Flour Hour podcast (a must-listen for all bakers!), our Editor-in-Chief Brian Hart Hoffman shares how his passion for baking began, his biggest baking uh-oh, his five favorite bakeries, and more. Brian and the podcast’s hosts and co-founders, Amanda Faber and Jeremiah Duarte Bills, talk about highlights from our latest cookbook, Bake from Scratch: Volume Two (now officially available), and the recent Bake Like a Brit Tour.
On the podcast, the dynamic duo publishes episodes where they interview prominent bakers and makers in the industry as well as dishing their own personal takes on trending baking topics like gluten-free baking. Our very own Editor-in-Chief Brian Hart Hoffman sat down with Amanda and Jeremiah to talk about the beginnings of his passion for baking, how he fell in love with the art and created Bake from Scratch magazine.
After winning the second season of The Great American Baking Show, Amanda decided to start a home-based cake catering business in Atlanta. Amanda often features her inspired cake decorating designs on her eye-candy Instagram account (@amandaefaber) and offers new recipes on her blog, including the a well-spiced version of Chai layer cake complete with Pistachio Orange Buttercream Frosting. Jeremiah, who starred on the 2016 season of The Great American Baking Show, is currently writing a cookbook focused on Portuguese Desserts, referencing his rich Portuguese heritage. Jeremiah spends most of his time testing his future cookbook recipes in Sacramento. Next on the list, a proper homage to the Portuguese Custard Tart!
