2. Mexican Chocolate Fudge Pie
Guajillo chili and cayenne pepper give this fudge pie spicy depth and a kick. Velvety cocoa notes and a light dusting of confectioners’ sugar curb the heat. Find more recipes for fall pies in our September/October 2017 issue!
The stickier, the better with this timeless treat. One of our favorite comfort foods, the recipe originated in Sweden, where they actually observe a Cinnamon Roll Day (Kanelbullens dag) on October 4, but we recommend celebrating these rolls every chance you get.
4. Natural Strawberry Cake with Browned Butter Frosting
If there were a cake that embodied springtime, the Natural Strawberry Cake with Browned Butter Frosting would be it: pretty (in pink) and perfect for any special occasion or just a day when you need a little something sweet. In our version, you’ll find chunks of fresh strawberries nestled among fluffy cake layers slathered in a rich browned butter frosting.

5. Dried Cranberry Shortbread Cookies
These simple, delicious, and buttery shortbread cookies from Fanny Lam (of Oh Sweet Day!) are your go-to edible gift during the holiday season. Dried cranberries yield the perfect balance to the creamy texture of the cookie base. The lovely ruby-red color also adds a festive touch. Find more from Fanny in our Holiday Cookies Special issue, co-produced with feedfeed.
Though most commonly served during the Lenten season, particularly on Good Friday, this sweet yeast roll with its signature cross topping is perfect all year long. For a more spirited take on the traditional hot cross bun, we subbed in a punchy spiced Rum Glaze for the Golden Syrup. Get our Classic Hot Cross Buns, Chocolate Cherry Hot Cross Buns, and Orange Currant Hot Cross Buns recipe in our March/April 2017 issue!
7. Peanut Butter Nutella Coffee Cake
Roasted peanuts add a salty crunch to this delectable combination of peanut butter and chocolate. We love a slice alongside a steaming mug of coffee, but a scoop of vanilla ice cream never hurt anyone! For more, look to our best coffee cakes roundup.
