Step 1: Divide dough into four equal pieces, and shape into balls.
Step 2: On a sheet of parchment paper, roll on piece of dough into a 9 1/2-inch circle.
Step 3: Use a 9-inch cake pan to make an indentation in the dough.
Step 4: Spread about 1/3 of jam onto dough round, being careful to stay inside the circle indentation.
Step 5: Roll out remaining pieces of dough into circles, and place atop first round, alternating dough and jam, finishing with the fourth and final circle of dough on top.
Step 6: Make Another indentation with a 9-inch cake pan on top of stack; trim the edges.
Step 7: Use a ruler to make the center. With a 2 1/2-inch round cutter, make a circle indentation in the center.
Step 8: Use a paring knife to make 12 or 16 equidistant cuts all the way through the dough-jam stack, from the outside of the inner circle all the way to the outer edge.
Step 9: Take two adjacent strips and twist them twice, away from each other, using your fingers to seal the inner seam. Repeat all the way around the loaf.
